What is the nature of love? True Love is at once inexpressible and to speak of love is to lose its essence. Yet the great poets have sought tirelessly to give expression to the deepest yearning of the Soul. Poetry more than any other medium seems capable of giving form to the highest ideals of love and the immortality of our soul’s loftiest consciousness.
True love is unconditional, it does not seek to influence or guide others. True love is free from expectation and demand.

The power of love to elevate our consciousness is limitless. The Seers suggest that it is love that is our true essence. When we experience love in its purest form we revel in its indescribable transformative power.

Love in all its mysteries captures the heart and soul of a person. In the presence of love, all the riches of the world lose their attraction. The lover can only gain satisfaction from the unbroken union of the lover. The sweetness of love is only matched by the bitter pangs of separation. The poet in Tennyson said “t’is was better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all” Yet the pangs of separation have also stimulated the most moving and haunting poetry. When a great poet shares his inmost experience of the soul, we feel the unmistakeable pull of the heart. The poetry of the Sufi’s is rich in its songs of devotional intensity.

Love captures the heart and soul. The desire and fulfilment of love leads to rapture. The pangs of separation and loss tear at the heart of the lover. Human love seems subject to the whims of fate; inexpressible joy intermingled with unimaginable pain. The human search for love – a roller coaster of emotions.
Whilst human love so often brings frustration and suffering, divine Love brings real and abiding satisfaction. In divine Love we have a feeling of oneness with the entirety of God’s creation. Our Soul is consciously or unconsciously seeking union with the highest transcendental consciousness. When we love the source, we at the same time see God in all.
O Love, O pure deep Love, be here, be now,
